Letters of Private Winthrop McClare, 1915-1917. McClare enlisted in Nova Scotia, and was sent to France in Feb. 1917. He was killed in action, fighting with the 24th Battalion near Fresnoy, May 5th, 1917. McClare was 19 years old when he was killed. He is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial.
