THE GREATEST GALLANTRY
THE NEWFOUNDLAND REGIMENT AT MONCHY-LE-PREUX,
APRIL 14, 1917

A new book on the great attack at Monchy during the Battle of Arras. It was at Mochy where the Newfoundlanders and the Essex, who attacked side by side, and were slasughtered, at Beaumont Hamel on Jukly 1, 1916 were once again asked to do the impossible, attack without proper support or preparations. The results were the same as on the Somme in 1916. It also tells the great story of the Eight who held Monchy in the face of German counterattacks, and saved the British Line near Arras from a complete collapse.
