This is the memoir of one of the original 500 members of the Newfoundland Regiment. The book follows Private Jim Stacey, by his letters and narrative, through Gallipoli, the disaster of July 1st, 1916 at Beaumont-Hamel, Monchy and the Advance to Victory in 1918.
